Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah

Beloved Quran Hearts,

We find ourselves having reached the half-way mark of Sha’baan 1438. A mere two weeks ago, we were in the midst of the month of Qur’an, doing all we could to connect to and honour the Glorious Qur’an, in thise fleeting days.

ou2

Many Qur’an centres close for the Eid break, and as they prepare to resume, I thought it apt to share 5 powerful and practical  reminders for us all, in the hope that they may aid your Hifdhul Qur’an journey to fruition:

  • Find a half hour of solitude: sit down, reflect and note down personal observations of your Ramadan Qur’an connection. Introspect: what were my strengths and weaknesses? What was the quality and consistency of my Qur’an connection this year? Did I feel distant, or nearer to Him?
  • Taking action: Be pro-active. It’s easy to fall on the wayside of a self-sabotaging motorcade. What are some of the steps you will need to take, ahead of the next Ramadan, in order to fulfill your short-term and long-term hifdh goals?
  • Calibrate: outline realistic goals for both the long-term and short-term: perhaps weekly or monthly goals? And then a goal you aim to work towards by the eve of the next Ramadan?
  • Motivational mechanisms: ensure that you have efficient tools, effective resources, and a supportive network to assist, cheer on, and pray for your hifdh progress.
  • Dua, Dua, Dua: Truly, I cannot overemphasize this, your most powerful tool! Don’t despair! At that moment, when you’re questioning when and if you’ll ever complete your hifdh, please know that it is Dua which keeps you grateful, focused, and determined on your path!

Wishing you success and joy at every stage of your hifdh journey!

Rayhaanah
