Assalaamu ‘alaykum wa Rahmatullah

Beloved Quran Hearts,

We find ourselves merely 3 weeks away from the greatest of all days, the first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. May we reach the blessed days with inspired faith and sound hearts, ameen.

Post-Ramadan is perhaps one of the most challenging periods for many aspiring haafidhaat. Having completed the sacred month all motivated and immersed in Qur’anic devotion, one is often left feeling a tad bit unsure, feeling as though they are loosing the foothold gained in this month.

If anything, this post is just to remind YOU that the hifdh journey is a beautiful, albeit ongoing one. And for that reason, YOU need to:

  • Remain steadfast.
  • Get back on track.
  • Review your goals.
  • Assess / chart your progress.
  • Renew your intentions.

You have THIS MOMENT, to turn your can’ts into cans. To commit to your hifdh journey, even though it may feel as though you’re constantly doing just this. That is ok. Start by changing your focus and shifting your mindset. Rather than focussing on how little you’ve learnt or comparing yourself mercilessly with others, get back on track with your own set of strengths and weaknesses, and outline your own expectations and goals.

From years of teaching, I can honestly say that it if you want to be successful in recommitting and resuming your hifdh, you NEED to have a healthy approach, a relaistic outlook, and a positive mindset . This here, is where it all begins, Quran Hearts.

Today, what 3 things can YOU do to nurture a more positive outlook towards your hifdh? I’d like you to list them down please, print it out if you must, and let it be the first set and last set of printed words you see  each day.

Approach your hifdh with respect, dedication, focus, sustained effort, humbleness, and patience.  And love. Oh yes, plenty of love. Now watch the miracles unfold, Quran Hearts.

Wishing you success and joy at every stage of your hifdh journey!

Rayhaanah
